Grilled chicken(Yakitori) on the plate

Do you know "Yakitori" ?

Yakitori is a bite-sized piece of grilled chicken on a skewer.

The seasoning is two types: Tare(Yakitori sauce) or salt.

Grilled chicken(Yakitori) on the plate

This is my favorite Yakitori, Bonjiri* with salt.

*Bonjiri = chicken tail including born

One piece of Yakitori(Bonjiri)

The taste of Bonjiri is a tender and a little bit oily.

Be careful the born inside the Bonjiri during the eating.

Yakitori(Tsukune means meat ball) on the plate

This Yakitori is "Tsukune"* with Tare(Yakitori sauce).

*Tsukune = a meatball

Some Tsukune consists of not only meat but also vegetables.

It is depend on the restaurant.

Yakitori Motsu(giblets)

This Yakitori is "Motsu" with Tare(Yakitori sauce).

I prefer a stewed Motsu to Yakitori of Motsu.

Wrapped Yakitori

If you buy Yakitori at some store in Japan,

They wrap the Yakitori with a plastic bag not to spill Tare from the package.
